Residents across Brunswick are being invited to come together for a special community event to mark the International Day of Older People (IDOP) on Thursday 1 October 2026.
Established by the United Nations, IDOP celebrates the contributions of older people while raising awareness of the opportunities and challenges that come with an ageing population.
The event has been organised by local resident Rob Burgess (74) in partnership with S4B and Age UK Manchester. Rob is well known within the Brunswick community for his commitment to helping older people stay connected, active and engaged through a range of activities and learning opportunities.
Taking place at Brunswick Village Community Space, the free event will offer a variety of information, advice and activities designed to support health, wellbeing and independence.
