Hartfield Close

Hartfield Close was home to the last of the remaining prefabs in Brunswick. Prefabs are small houses that can be built quickly, mainly brought in after the second world war to ease the housing crisis.

These modular concrete structures built in the late 1960’s, have now been replaced by new homes.
S4B built almost 500 new homes in Brunswick as part of the PFI project, with 200 for social rent and 300 for sale, transforming the neighbourhood and creating a suburb on the edge of Manchester city centre.

The road situated next to Brunswick Church has been home to many community events such as the Brunswick food and drink festival and sports fun days.
