On 28 September, S4B once again worked in partnership with Manchester Young Community Champions (MYCC) to host the third annual Brunswick’s Got Young Talent event at Brunswick Village Community Space.
Contestants stepped into the spotlight in front of a supportive community audience. The line-up featured singers, a dancer and a young storyteller, who wrote and read their own original story.
The carnival dancer was crowned the overall winner following an impressive performance, which was also showcased at the Manchester Caribbean Festival. Every contestant was recognised for taking part and received a prize provided by Sister and local contractors Morgan Sindall, provided goodie bags for everyone.
A strong turnout helped create a lively atmosphere, with members of the community coming together to enjoy the show and encourage each of the young performers and as always, young people from the youth group were involved in the judging process.
S4B Social Investment Specialist Sharon Thomas said: “The Brunswick’s Got Young Talent event gives local young people a platform to express themselves, share their creativity and build confidence in front of an encouraging audience. It was fabulous to see such talent and so many smiling faces.”
