This year’s theme is Windrush Generations – Manchester Voices.

What is Black History month? The month was originally founded to recognise the contributions that people of African and Caribbean backgrounds have made to this country over many generations.  It has now expanded to include the history of not just Afro-Caribbean black people but all black people in general. 

Unfortunately, due to the COVID- 19 pandemic, public celebration events cannot take place this year, but there’s still plenty to get involved with online:
