S4B reduced the repair service on 26 March 2020 to emergency repairs only to ensure the safety of both residents and staff and comply with Government guidance in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

On 18 May, the Government issued in this letter which says we can now start to re-introduce routine repairs to the service. The letter also contains information about external maintenance and services, gas safety checks and building safety.

We are now planning to re-commence our routine repairs service from 1 June
There is a backlog of jobs, so please bear with us while we work through them. It will take some time so your patience and understanding will be very much appreciated. They will be processed on a priority basis.

Resident and colleague safety is our number one priority – all operatives will be using personal protective equipment (PPE) and observing social distancing.

No work should be carried out in any household which is isolating or where an individual is being shielded, unless it is to remedy a direct risk. In such a case, prior arrangements should be made to avoid any face-to-face contact, for example when answering the door. The operative will be up to date with the latest guidance on how to work safely.

Remember to keep two meters from all persons not in your household at all times and try to wait in another room when the operative is attending your property.

If you have any routine repairs (those that are not an emergency), please report them preferably by email at [email protected] or if you don’t have access to email, we can be contacted by telephone on 0300 555 0128.

Please note: The S4B housing office currently remains closed. We will update you again as and when the situation changes.
