S4B have been informed Manchester City Council (MCC) have been working with Co-op Medlock Academy to implement an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO) which comes into effect on Monday 20th April, when the school will apply the first of the road closures.

The Wadeson Road road closure will be operating as follows:

    • From Monday 20th April
    • Monday to Friday, during school term times
    • Between 8:00-9:15 am
    • Between 2:45-3:45 pm
    • Vehicles will not be permitted to drive through Wadeson Road during the road closure times.
    • Here a plan of the area affected.

There are alternative routes which vehicles can take via Sylvia Pankhurst Way and Balsam Close during the closure times. Road traffic signs on Wadeson Road at the junction of Sylvia Pankhurst Way and Balsam Close will be updated, and removable bollards will be installed in the coming weeks.

A letter was issued by the Manchester City Council to residents directly affected in November 2025, informing them of the Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO) to apply a school street closure near Co-op Academy Medlock and they issued this follow-up letter on 13th April.

This is the next step in the safer streets campaign which originally included only no parking measures during school opening and closing times. More info here: Medlock Primary School – No Parking, No Stopping Zone | S4B Manchester
