Whilst the homes are purchased as Freehold, the covenants are restrictive on how they can be used.

These include :

  • Payment of ground rent
  • Controls on any extension of development with permitted development rights removed
  • Controls on how the home can be used
  • Controls on who can live in the home
  • Controls on how the garden is maintained and used

S4B manages these covenants on behalf of Manchester City Council and takes action against freeholders in breach of these where needed.
