Money problems can escalate quickly, so it’s crucial to seek help as soon as possible. Our Money Advice Team offers free, confidential advice to help you manage your debts.
They can assist you with:
- Identifying which debts need to take priority
- Maximising your income to pay off debts
- Negotiating with creditors
We can also make referrals to debt specialist agencies like Step Change, National debt line, Payplan and Citizens Advice if needed.

Council Tax payments
You may be able to apply for a Council Tax reduction. If you’re eligible you will receive a discount on your bill. If you are claiming Universal Credit you must apply for a Council Tax reduction separately by going directly to your local authority. This will not be done as part of your Universal Credit claim.
