The school holidays can sometimes be quite a challenge to keep schoolkids occupied, not to mention the expense of it all.
So once again, S4B jumped at the chance to team up with Ardwick Community Football Consortium CIC, to help to provide something fun and boredom beating for the kids.
And what better than a week of football, badminton, cricket, basketball and other sports activities – and dodgeball turned out to be the favourite of them all – there was even free Pizza at half-time!
The activities were held on 1st, 2nd and 3rd June, and mainly aimed at girls and boys aged 10-15 years old, but the younger ones were welcome to come along with an adult.
Mike Edwards, of Manchester Young Community Champions, said: “It is always a pleasure to get involved with the community working with the young people from the area.
“The sessions were well attended and everyone who took part enjoyed the activities.
“It was great to hear the feedback at the end with them all wanting more sessions, and it was a great way to run off that pizza!”
More events are being planned for the summer holidays, so please keep an eye out on the S4B Facebook page and website for details.
Also, why not check out the S4B Facebook page for more pics of the event.
