As part of the Brunswick development, S4B has teamed up with training provider Full Circle Learning to deliver training opportunities that will help you learn new skills, gain a qualification or improve your chances of getting a job.
The training will take place at the heart of the Brunswick community, utilising local facilities to up-skill local people.
There are two courses:
• Trade taster course (to be held through out the year
• Basic construction course and health and safety
The Trade taster course
This is for tenants who want to learn some basic DIY related skills such as plumbing and joinery. It’s delivered for a couple of hours over 4 days or during one day, whichever suits best.
Basic construction course
You must be aged 19 or above, unemployed and in in receipt of JSA or ESA to qualify for this training.
This course will help you get a BTEC Level 1in Basic Construction Skills. You’ll cover plumbing, joinery and brickwork and you’ll take the CSCS health and safety test.
If you pass the CSCS test and get a job we’ll pay for your card.
Travel costs for this course will also be covered. The course is 10 days full time.
